Unfortunately, lately there are more gyms needing help than we have consultants to help them. We are very selective when it comes to new hires simply because we have a strong reputation in the industry and we need individuals with integrity to continue this success.
Traveling Consultants
New consultants will start their career with VMG conducting Full Campaigns. After you learn the industry, we can begin sending you on more consulting and training assignments. Typically a Full Campaign will last anywhere from 4-12 weeks. In the past year, our consultants have found themselves in Arizona, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, Minnesota, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. Each day is different and exciting because you are constantly meeting and mingling with a variety of new people. Your job in most assignments will be to sell gym memberships. Through a variety of marketing strategies, you will drive potential members through the client’s door. Your personality and passion is what will sell the membership. That is why we seek only the most energetic and the most passionate consultants available. After each campaign, you can choose to take as many as 3 weeks off to be home. Of course if you’re especially hungry, you can get a new campaign started immediately…it’s up to you!Most of our consultants over the years have had some experience either in the fitness field or sales within a different industry. In all cases, VMG will provide on-the-job training for all new reps. Depending on your experience and how quickly you learn everything, you will be able to end training and begin your own campaign. To make sure our clients get a highly-qualified health club consultant, your training will end when we feel you are skilled enough to successfully represent VMG at their location. All clubs deserve the very best…and we provide them with the very best! This is an opportunity for you to become an expert in the fitness industry. Perhaps you are thinking of opening your own club or are simply looking for a fun sales job with high income potential. Our consultants are regarded as some of the best minds in the fitness industry, simply because they are able to see the good, bad and the ugly at gyms around the nation. What other job in this industry allows you such a birds eye view?
The average consultant typically works 9-10 months out of the year and earns between $50,000-$80,000 per year (base + commission). A bonus structure also allows top performers to earn extra for their efforts. You will receive paid training, one paid conference per year (typically Las Vegas or Chicago), and best of all you are your own boss! We give you the tools and consistent support and we help find clients for you! If you are looking for an exciting opportunity to travel, have a lot of fun, meet new people, get in the best shape of your life and help a lot of gyms along the way, then VMG is for you! After spending 1-2 years as a traveling consultant, a position at one of VMG’s corporate offices will be available or we can customize a position if you want to settle down in one area.While we don’t necessarily require experience running health club marketing campaigns, we do expect at minimum from our applicants:

- An entrepreneurial spirit
- A passion for exercise and fitness
- The desire to be the very best you can be
