Do I need a Membership Campaign or Total Club Solution?
Though most gyms initially feel they need a Membership Campaign, often times it is best to start with the Total Club Solution. Why give up more revenue when just a few tweaks to your system could have you generating a lot more money without having to share it with us? Many health club promotion companies operate in a "churn and burn" mentality. They come in, regardless of what is best for you, and many times leaving you feeling used and abused. Fitness Marketing Group will always recommend a plan of attack that is in YOUR best interest. If a program isn't right for you, we'll tell you. Even if it means we make less money.
We have created our programs so there is something that will meet the needs of all fitness businesses; regardless of size, location, or budget. Will you work with any of our local competitors?
We know our continued success is dependent upon your success. Therefore we put every ounce of effort into you and your facility. Once we work for you, we will never work for a local competitor. Do keep in mind though that if we have sold products or provided services to another club in your area, we will not be able to help your club. But as long as you are first, you will be our only client in your area.
What types of fitness businesses do you work with?
We have services for every size and every type of fitness business. Our offerings meet the needs of health clubs, gyms, franchises, personal training studios, women-only gyms, and a variety of other niche fitness businesses. Larger corporate chains are eating up the smaller clubs and we want to help keep things on an even playing field. These larger chains have the backing of investors, seemingly unlimited payroll and marketing budgets, and economy of scale that is tough for smaller facilities to compete with. We have been very successful in helping our clients increase profitability, even in the most competitive of markets. How much can we expect our revenues to increase from one of your programs?
Our favorite answer is, it depends. It depends on which program is utilized at your club, it depends on the size of your market and your competition, it depends on the time of year, etc. In the past, we have helped increase the monthly draft of a club anywhere between $2,000 and $11,000 per month. While these numbers are impressive and important to your success, our goal is to help you create the "perfect" gym and to help you capitalize on every possible opportunity to increase profitability and decrease expenses.
Will you want us to discount our prices?
We do not like the idea of discounting your membership prices. We will analyze your current prices, the promotions you have tried in the past, what has worked and what has not worked, and we will determine the most effective pricing structure we feel will bring you the most success during the campaign. Everything will be based on increasing your monthly EFT revenue, but if you need some extra capital for an upcoming purchase, we can adjust the pricing to allow for a few extra paid-in-full memberships to help you cover some short-term needs. Increasing monthly revenues is our main focus though and our goal is to increase it by as much as we possibly can. Many times we even recommend increasing your rates if we feel the market will allow for an increase. Our passion lies in bringing you more members, but we will not devalue your gym in order to help you sell a few extra memberships.
Do you focus on increasing cash or increasing our monthly EFT?
Whether we are selling memberships for you or training you to do it yourself, our focus is always on increasing your receivables. Generally speaking, no more than 20 percent of memberships sold should be paid-in-full. The rest need to be set up on Electronic Fund Transfer. This helps ensure consistent cash flow and decreases late payments. If you are in a situation where you need more up-front cash, we can tailor the sales process to influence more people to pay for their membership in advance. Our focus however, will always be on increasing revenues through EFT. Many gyms live week-to-week and rely on large Paid-In-Full memberships to survive. We help you develop a new system that increases your guaranteed monthly income. Life is too short to stress every day and every month about being able to find money to pay bills! Increasing your receivables will ultimately increase your chances of success in this industry.

I'm in a small market. Will there be any sales left to make after you are gone?
The number of memberships we sell in a market barely scratch the surface of how many more potential members there are available. There is always a trickle effect after we are finished running a campaign. Marketing research shows that many people need up to 7 "touches" before they make a decision to act. Many people will learn of your gym through our marketing, but it just won't be the right time for them to take action. It could be weeks or months, a life altering event, or simply one more "touch" that causes them to join. And when they do seek out a facility, thanks to our marketing efforts, they will remember you!
Other promo companies promise hundreds of thousands of dollars for our gym. Why don't you?
If we said we were tired of hearing about health clubs being misled and cheated by promo companies, it would be an understatement. It makes it difficult for us to earn a health club owner's trust when it seems every promo company in our industry has had to change names, move locations, or go out of business because of illegal and underhanded practices. We hope that our health club clients are not na´ve enough to think that in a few short weeks you will have $250,000 in hand or that a campaign will average over $45,000/week. It just doesn't happen. Other promo companies, though they say otherwise, utilize high pressure sales techniques, will drop prices at the point of sale, will sell to people they know will never pay their dues, and will devalue your gym and alienate your current member base. We wish we could post an entire section on our website of horror stories from these health club promotion companies, but that just wouldn't be our style. We instead hope we do a good enough job convincing you that we are legitimate, that we will put your business interests before our own, and that we will represent your club with the highest level of integrity.
