Giovanni Marshall

I am 37 yrs old and I have 3 wonderful children ages 16, 17, and 18. I had the joy of my 16 year old playing for team USA the summer of 2009 and helping them win the gold medal in basketball.
I graduated high school at Northeast High School in Clarksville, TN in 1991. I attended Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, TN, I played football and majored in business. I am a proud member of Warfield Lodge #44 F. &. A.M. (PHA) Clarksville, TN.. I love my community.
I have been in the healthclub industry for over 15 years. What attracted me toward the industry was my passion for working out and meeting new people. I love interacting with people and everyone I meet becomes a friend. I am reminded of my mother saying "Boy, do you ever meet a stranger?" I have worked in gyms all over the country and love what I do
I always get along great with club owners, staff, and the members of the gyms I work with. I've made my fair share of mistakes and have learned from all of them. My experiences have made me better prepared to help people understand the things they should be doing, and the things they shouldn't.
I notice these days that too many clubs are trying to rely too much on technology and other strategies to drive traffic. But what should be happening is a stronger focus on face to face marketing and sales. Nothing beats looking into someone's eyes and shaking their hand. Technology has its place, but in today's competitive health club landscape it will be the club owners and staff who focus on a higher level of customer service who will be successful. It is my goal to help bring the "service" back to our industry...if you'll let me.
